Dan’s Test: How PrecisionCycle Fixed a Broken Heart

Dan came to PrecisionCycle after a rough breakup with someone he worked with. It was the kind of relationship that burned fast and bright—fun, intense, and over before either of them saw it coming. Afterward, Dan was stuck in loops. Old texts, shared playlists, hallway glances at work—it all kept him spinning.

What we worked on together was simple but deep: learning to metabolize the experience, take the lesson, and move forward. That’s what PrecisionCycle is built for.

Dan’s a rugby guy—huge fan of the All Blacks. He told me, “They don’t call them games. They call them tests.” That became the core of our work. Because life? Life is a series of tests. And you don’t rise to the occasion—you fall to the level of your training.

For Dan, the real test wasn’t the weekend in San Diego or the heated moments—it was how he held himself in the aftermath. Could he resist the 2 a.m. text? Could he stay calibrated at work? Could he let the song play on his playlist without unraveling?

What changed everything was this: Dan realized people don’t show up to watch you beg for love. They show up to see you be you. People are drawn to your presence, not your need. When Dan remembered who he was—steady, sharp, sovereign—the field shifted.

The truth is, most of us never get the space to process heartbreak the right way. We bury it, distract ourselves, or act out. Dan chose something different. He put himself through the test, learned from it, and came out stronger.

The work is ongoing, for him and for all of us. But here’s the takeaway:
You practice like you play. Because in life, every day is gameday.

Are you ready to step onto the field?
