The Escape from Sedation: Real Work vs. Institutional Illusion
At a residential eating disorder treatment center, I witnessed firsthand how real clinical work gets treated as a threat—not a solution.
One October evening, a patient spiraled into distorted thinking, projecting fears of being made obese by her dietician. It was a classic borderline break: symbolic distortion bleeding into the real. Using Lacanian principles, I challenged her fixation—not harshly, but with surgical clarity. I helped her ground the meaning of "fat" in a neutral, reality-based framework, recalibrating her thinking in real time.
What should have been recognized as a breakthrough was instead weaponized against me. Leadership didn’t want psychoanalysis in the building—they wanted sedation. Predictability. Compliance. Billing codes. Not transformation.
This is why elevate.epo exists.
We are not here to soothe pathology. We are here to challenge distortion at the root. We are here to recalibrate reality at the point of contact, when the unconscious field demands it.
At elevate.epo, we teach you to build boundary regimes, to ground yourself in the real, to sever the feedback loops that keep you sick, trapped, and deferential to broken systems.
If you’re ready to stop managing symptoms and start mastering your environment, let’s begin.
