Two Energies: The Survival Fields of Eating Disorders
Most people think eating disorders are just about behavior:
Who eats. Who purges. Who follows their meal plan.
But behavior is only the outermost ripple. What lives underneath are emotional survival fields — entire systems of logic, fear, control, and collapse — embedded in the nervous system. And once you see those fields, you realize there are two primary storms inside EDO treatment:
The Restrictors. The Binge-Purgers.
Restrictors retreat. They fold in. They control. They hide in plain sight. And they often do it with a smile.
Binge-purgers explode. They spin out. They pull you in, then throw you out. And in their collapse, they often replicate the exact betrayals they’re trying to escape.
In this episode of elevate.epo, Enrique breaks down what clinicians miss, what patients live through, and why most programs fail — not because they don’t care, but because they don’t treat the field.
If you’ve ever felt like treatment didn’t work, or relapse came faster than expected, this episode might explain why.

If this episode spoke to you — if you saw yourself in Sammi, in Danni, in Helen or Mary — then share it. Send it to your clinician. Send it to someone still trying to make sense of the chaos. And most importantly, come back Friday. We’ll be breaking down Field Theory — the only model that explains why containment alone always fails.
